Local government for local people by local people. We believe that freedom and democracy should begin at grass roots level with us the local residents. For this reason we pledge to restore the voice of the Parish and Town Councils in local government and we will make sure that they and you, are kept properly in the picture on such vital issues as planning and expenditure .
Improve local prosperity through more, higher paid jobs. We are committed to increasing the prosperity of Mid Suffolk and encouraging new businesses and new jobs to the area, particularly high technology developments that will provide sustainable and well-paid employment for all our young people.
Housing that local people can afford. We will press for the maximum number of low cost affordable houses in all new housing developments in Mid Suffolk. We want local houses for local people particularly for the young who are being priced out of the local market.
Keep Suffolk a beautiful place to live and work in. We are determined to protect Mid Suffolk from ugly and inappropriate developments that threaten the natural beauty of the countryside that we all enjoy and treasure. We will also do all in our power to preserve the wildlife and care for the environment in a responsible manner .
Local councillors in touch with local people . We will not be invisible councillors who you only see at election time – we undertake to listen to your concerns and to keep people informed of what goes on in the council chamber.
Better value from our council taxes. Most importantly we want Mid Suffolk District Council to provide you, as a council taxpayer or as someone who needs its services, with a better service. There must be less waste and political correctness and more accountability to the people.
Above all, we offer you, the people of Suffolk, the chance to start to change things for the better. Remember this is your county, your district.
If you think our ideas make sense then give us your support. Lets show the political parties that the people of Suffolk have not given up. Together we can make local government reflect the true wishes of local people. Suffolk Together will work for a bolder, brighter future for you, your family, your parish and your community.
If you are dismayed at how far local government has strayed from local people and want to make a change, either to help expand Suffolk Together into your area of Suffolk or you want to support us, please contact us now on info@suffolktogether.org
