its a typical Suffolk saying!)

If, like us you believe that local government should leave national party politics behind and be there to serve local people on local issues, Suffolk Together is the party for you.

Getting two District Councillors elected in last year's District Council elections for Mid Suffolk District Council was just the start and a remarkable result for a brand new party. All the more significant because it was achieved without the money and support of a political head office in London. Our sincere thanks to everyone who voted for us and supported our new approach to local politics.

As we said in our election leaflets, local government should be for local people, by local people. National parties have no place in deciding what is best for the people of Suffolk – Suffolk people can do that admirably. So whether it’s defending what we have - our schools; our rural post offices; our way of life or fighting for what we don’t have - enough well paid local jobs, enough affordable housing - local people know better than some remote, centrally run party.

This is why Suffolk Together and parties like us are emerging as the new force in local government throughout England. Already people from all over the County are contacting us and asking how to stand in future elections in Districts such as Babergh, Suffolk Coastal,Waveney, under the Suffolk Together banner.

We will actively support any local group in Suffolk who is disenchanted with the way that local government has lost touch with local people and who want to make a change. From our small start, we intend to grow Suffolk Together into a strong county wide organisation and in a position to contest seats at Town, District and County levels of local government throughout Suffolk - why not join us?

I
f you feel frustrated with the way local government expects you to serve it, rather than the other way round and you want to make a change, contact us on info@suffolktogther.org We are a party who will champion local causes and local needs - we can help you and your community fight back against the tide of remote and out of touch local government. If you want to do something, but don't know how to get started - contact us, we are actively seeking new branches across Suffolk run by motivated local people who want to make a change.

We will then seek to implement commonsense policies based on the real needs of local people, not the remotely drawn up polices of Westminster controlled parties. The true voice of the people of Suffolk will then be heard again for the first time in many years.
